The anti-stomp
Ok I keep hearing people complain about stomp and how "cheap" it is. Well me, being someone who plays marines 80% of the time, thinks thats bs. Ok so if your like me and you hate the jetpack, the obivious choice to avoiding a stomping onos, then you'll want to do one of these three things.
One: Stay with your team, an onos is not as affective agianst groups, move together, work together. 50% of the time if an onos stomps you, or the guy in the front he will try to eat you. If you have been eaten and your in a group don't give up hope yet, if your team is any good they will save you. You wouldn't think it was that common but I have been pulled from the jaws....err bowls of death many times by my team mates.
Two: If your alone for what ever reason, and the onos is comeing for you chances are he will stomp you from as far away as possible before attacking. When he does this, wait for the stomps short affect to wear off, then run a circle behind him, empty your clip into him, kinfe him do what ever you can. Chances are he'll try to gore you or stomp you agian, so stay away from his front side. Use your speed to your advantage, if your a heavy, keep away from the mouth .
Three: If your the commander, and you know there are onos running about, upgrade your weapons lvls asap. That little bit of extra armor will not save your marines, but extra firepower will.
Do this and you should have no problem, stomp is no where near unbalanced, it's one of the few changes I like. It teaches marines not to wonder off alone, and gives groups the advantage, because most onos will attack first with stomp, not gore so use those spare seconds wisely. Happy Halloween

I mean everything in this guide seems to be banking on onos stupidity. What if its a clanmatch?A scrim?A pug?
and thus people stop reading
What the heck, that's not possible unless the Onos has a couple of MCs nearby. Also the times I've tried to attack a group of marines (in a room larger than 1*1) by stopming then devouring my health goes down very fast (I use regen) hard to believe why it's overpowered, maybe in very small rooms....

Wrong. Adren + Onos = Unlimted Stompt.
I wonder if people actually play the game before coming to the forums?
Good lord, you cannot USE TEAMWORK to counter stompt ffs, it HITS UNLIMTED MARINES!
Next, you cannot say spread out, because you will only fight a smart onos in tight packed areas! Remember, the aliens always choose the fight against marines, esp. if they are good!
A smart onos will only choose to fight once he's in an area that so he can hit any marine within range!
Try playing veil against smart aliens.PLZ.
The best way to kill an onos with the least res is to:
Plant 8 mines below 1 marine
Other marines RUN!
Other marines distract him by firing at him
Onos attcks the one not moving or firing --
BOOM!

so u have a stomping onos .....
have you ever tried to hold 5 marines in a big room
without a second alien they'll kill you really fast...
4 pubs
If you are on your own without a jetpack and you take on an onos, take it like a man, you deserve to die.
If you are trying to avoid stomp move so you are off his floor level.
Jump like you have a fire in your underwear.
Scream at your comm that you need jetpacks stat!!!
Other than that you really need to lure him into an ambush.
Isn't my guide great? for sale at all bad bookshops. - Tink
pub teamwork w aliens - adren onos spams stomp while skulks move in
they require about the same amount of coordination, but if the onos knows what he's doing, the aliens will win.
tip to bring the fight to YOU - gl. pump nades around corners where you think they'll be hiding. aliens hate running down long corridors, thats when you own em. aliens love waiting for you around corners and on the ceiling over doorways. if you launch 4 nades to where they're hiding, they're gonna have to run, letting you move in w/o fear.
And dont tell me area denial to the onos, one skulk sees you with mines infront fo you,say bye-bye to the mines and yourself as well as any marines near you.
Jetpacks.Um.....ever seen an onos jump and pluck JPers out of thin air?Tried JPing in the corridors on say ns_nothing,like the ones near marine start or geneatror?
And why must you assume that the onos is stupid enough to try and stomp a full HA train that is in a large, open room?I mean you just dont see this happening if the onos is a vet.More likely, the onos waits till the train gets into a bunch of corridors, then hits. Then bye-bye to the train.
