Eh, wish to ask u all computer expert
whenever i go into ns server, my ping would be VERY HIGH, then stabilize to 50+ at my local server
i thought this is ok lor.. but whenever i engage fight, i would really lag! 200+ ping. rise donno for wad reason. this happen when i SEE other ppl fight
computer spec : pentium 4 2.0ghz
512 RD ram
20GB space(now 10.6gb is available)
gefore 2 mx 400
using Broadband from my local provider company at singapore
i have not install anything except my new keyboard. uh uh, when did keyboard affect lag.. lol
also, in my net_graph 3, in is about 200+ when the ping started to skyrcoket and i seem to be "teleporting", my mouse movemtn is not smooth. scan my computer wif norton anti virus and housecall
scan for adware wif adaware 6.1
nothing wrong... it only happen RECENTLY


frustate me a lot as i CANNOT frag due to the lag...

First up tell us choke, loss etc when you are ussing net_graph 3

Steam or WON?
Is this a new problem?
do you only get it in NS, or in other games also?

How do you connect to games?
I would suggest trying out <a href='http://www.udpsoft.com/eye2' target='_blank'>ASE</a>. You can make it only show you games in singapore or near by.

yah, I am sorta guessing that this has something to do with your connection (it might come down to having to call your ISP)

choke and loss are 0 even when the spikes hit?

well, try connecting only to servers very near you (I know ase will do this)

if all else fails call your ISP and talk to them about it.

I also live in singapore! It might be your graphics card. NS has better graphics than other mods like CS.

so my lucent winmodem will perform the same as a regular modem? Doubt it. Explain why a winmodem will give you a higher ping.

second off, I was talking about normal hardware excluding networking stuf

3rd up is that it shouldn't give you worse ping, if it is then you have a defective pos modem and the company should replace it (then again I doubt that any problems you are having have anytihng to do with said modem though)
