<div class="IPBDescription">How is it?</div> A new Half-Life mod by the name of the Gate was released a few days ago. Has anyone played it? What did you think? I played the demo a few months ago and wasn't very impressed jumping puzzles, poor mapping, ect. Anyway here's the <a href='http://planethalflife.com/thegate/homex.html' target='_blank'>LINK</a>

It's alright as far as I've gotten (not very far)
They really tried for a cinematic experience, but went a little too hollywood (A general in a dress with breasts you could rest a glass on)

Pretty good, but it steals a ton of DoD's weapon sounds and models, and badly at that. Still fun though.

There's some gate the let's you travel through time... you go back to stop the German Axis Forces from using it... Blah blah blah. Killing ensues.

a few glitches in the models, a few overly long scenes where yuocant do squat but wait, and the jacked models have the wrong animations. Otherwise, pretty good mod so far, although the lack of moving mouths during cutscenes bites.

Nothing wrong with that I suppose but I think another unit may have been a little more suited.

Anyhoo the backstory is similar to Stargate so Ill ahve to check it out.

wait wait.. is it jsut me or are those STG44 models and german models ripped straight out of DoD and a DoD skin?

their modeler bailed on em early on, so all the models are either gifts, or ripped from another mod, i was mad when i reconized the main charaxcter as an AHL model, and the utter lack of moving mouths made me want to hurt someone (And i got my chance at the very end >:D)

I haven't playe dit, but I know that when I was growing up, there was a movie that came out called The Gate, and it was pretty badass.
