I put stickers around the edges. Like from fruit. Sometimes I put stuff up on top, like little stuffed animals, but they tend to fall off at inconvenient times.

I have a big teddy bear sitting right on top (hey, shut up. It's a manly teddy bear), and then I have the pewter Argonath figurines from the Fellowship of the Ring boxed set sitting on either side of it.

i dismanteled it, and painted it to look like a pretty gateway or dell, instead of the old 18" beige monstrosity it was.

damn fine paintjob too, everyone thinks its new.

I have a sticker that covers this ugly bird. It has an exclamation point warning, and under it, it says,
"Excessive heat will cause CPU damage.
Please use proper CPU cooler and check if the cooler is firmly contacted with the CPU. WARNING!"
And there's that blood that was left over from when that guy was--wait, oops. Er, other than that, nothing else.

haha my other monitor had a blood splotch on the side, looked cool, till about two years when it turned from brown to greenish.

(no i didnt kill anyone with the CRT, my friend had stitches in his hand and tried to carry it up a flight of stairs :x ouch!)

My monitor has a few deep gashes in the glass and a lot of dirt stuch to the casing, one of the perils of living in an industrial complex. My old one had about 60 times the dirt on the case, oh, and a messed up gamma.

a bit of black insulating tape over the power light so it doesnt keep me awake at night

(psu is an ATX and the only way i can isolate it is to disconnect it from the mains. so the light blinks orange when there is power but no signal)

Theres a plastic anklysauras thingy blu tacked to the side of my monitor two ex modems a bunch of CDs and a tonne of paperwork on top of it,All coated with a nice thick layer of dust.

I shoudlr eally take some of this junk off before my monitor explodes...
