there should be a texture labled "sky" that will make the actual surface. As far as picking what the sky look likes, its a value you can change in worldcraft under Map/Map Properties/environment map. The default value (with no entry) is the common-to-counter-strike "desert". There are multiple ones you can pick, such as "space" or "mars" (good ones for NS). You can see the entire list of sky sets in your ns/gfx/env folder.

it also helps if you have a .tga program such as photoshop, so you can see what the .tga sky map has, before you go into the game, and find that the sky did not fit the map, and need to recomplie
