And I'm activating hlds_run with this script:

[CODE]#!/bin/sh
cd /usr/steam/hlds_l
echo `date` >> lognsserverstartup.txt
sleep 1
echo "now starting the server"
sleep 1
./hlds_run -debug -pingboost 1 -game ns \
+maxplayers 18 +map ns_eclipse +port 27017 -debug

So I got my CS 1.6 Linux server w/amx mod running like a champ, but I added an ns server w/amx and everytime I try to run it it gives me this error and then restarts continuously. I know that AMX mod and Metamod are not the problem, because I set the "liblist.gam" back to "dll/ns_i386.so" and it gave me the same error. Not to mention you can see that Metamod loads in the quote above.

I downloaded GDB in some fruitless attempt to "debug" the problem, but that is beyond me.

been working on this server for the last two days stright... lol

    I made a platform/SAVE and got rid of that can error... thx Aea!

    Now...
    I ended up reinstalling ns and I got the server to load, but I'm still not outa the woods with this damn NS server. I finally got around to testing it and I can't join it from any of my friend's computers. When I try to connect to a computer w/o steam I get this error:
    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->host_error: usermsg: not present on client 66<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    and its looking like thats a client side problem that will be fixed when 2.1 comes out (see:
    <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=18&t=50667&' target='_blank'>http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...T&f=18&t=50667&</a>)

    But when I try to join from my room mates comp the connection times out and the ns server restarts after 10 seconds.

    You need to connect with a steam client on a steam server <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Try running the server with NO plugins, then add metamod, then add amx functions 1 by 1.

    There are a lot of things that could be wrong. Did you update to the latest 2.01 NS binary? The one that came with the original NS 2.0 .zip file will not work on HLDS_L 3.1.1.1 and Steam servers. Try following my guides below, they will help you trace the problem. Also, do not run as root, run as a user.

    Omg guys I'm so sorry. I fixed everything about 15 hours ago and I forgot about this thread (I posed in multiple forums).

    The Problem: Who knows...
    The Solution: Lynix refused to boot up after I restarted the computer once, so I reinstalled everything and it worked!

    Vadakill:
    1.Ty so much for making that NS guide, I've referenced it alot.
    2. If you ever need someone to mirror you're stuff darkspireclan.net will host a mirror for nothing

    Thanks for your time guys,
    -Rick

    Thanks for the mirroring offer but it really doesn't get THAT many hits <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Was there anything that was difficult to understand or anything that made you go "HUH?! what did he mean, lemme read that again". I re-read my guides and try to clarify where possible but since I've been working on Linux and HLDS for so long, I might be taking some things as granted knowledge when in fact it is confusing to new people.
