    HHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

    That is very funny!

    Anyone that thinks that this DS looks too stubby, go watch discovery channel for a bit, every so often they show this show about "lifting bodies" on re-entry vehicles. Basicially instead of wings, the bottom of the ship is designed in such a way that it acts as a wing itself. Like the germans expermental "Flying wing" in Secret weapons of the Luftwaffe.

    need an example of a "flying wing" design, go look at a b-2 bomber, that's pretty much all it is...

    but gj on the ship, i wanna see the shark-mouth <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

    Your addition of the cables and grating on the ceiling makes it look about twice as good.  Huge improvement.

    I'd like to see you figure out a way to get 16 marines in there. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->  I can almost hear you groan but...it seems that if you had to rows of seats on each wall, one above the other (maybe kind of like stadium seating, so the guys below are closer to the center) then you could do it.

    Also, the back of the drop ship looks great, but the front looks a bit bloated and boring.  I think if you made it sleeker or more aerodynamic in the front it would help a lot (I feel like I'm repeating myself again).

    A quick update - I'm busy reskinning the exterior. The nose is now a bit more aerodynamic and less bubble-like, there are some winglet type things on the end of the main wings, and the cockpit and canopy look a lot better.

    I might even produce another screenshot at some point. <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->

    Still not finished (the lighting's awful, the landing gear is temporary, the cockpit's unfinished) but getting there.

    The skin's pretty detailed - close up, you can see panels, 'rivets', scratches and so on. I spent a while mangling it together in the Gimp. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    Looks great HMTG. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo--> I especially like the textures. The front looks more aerodynamic now, though I personally don't prefer one over the other.

    The only thing that bugs me about the shot really, is the antenna type things sticking out the side. I think it's the pure blackness of them... they kind of look unatural. They seem a bit flat, without any dimention to them. That's just being nit-picky though.

    DROOOOL, SLOBBER and DROOL some more. That looks so utterly beautiful! Those swept back wings with the curvey edges!

    What are those black lines on the side? They don't look anything like antennas. Maby you could put some sort of sensor spike on the lower face of the nose?

    I sure hope that the inside is nice and soft, because that thing looks like it would flop hard.  But seriously, its looking really good.  I think that the shark's mouth is certainly a good touch, and gives it a more "used" feel.

    A week's work, off-and-on...

    <img src="http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/asylum/ns_sugarlump/ns_sugarlump-dropship10.jpg" border="0">

    A few minor tweaks (for instance, the antennae are no longer pitch black) and a transparent top, so I can see roughly what it'll look like in the commander mode thingy.

    Probably nearly finished, now. I'm considering sealing off the cockpit completely, since it'll be too cramped for gameplay, and contributes too much to r_speeds.

    It needs some heavy HINT-brush voodoo, which I can sort out - the next screenshot you see will probably be of ns_sugarlump itself.  <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->

    Looks great. I'm eagerly awaiting the first shots of ns_sugarlump. <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
