okay since steam is a big pile of crap and doesent work, i changed back to regular WON ns, but when i try and run on open gl mode i get a message saying that my graph card doesent support it, (which is bull crap) and when i try and run in direct 3d it crashes! help

Other than the fact that you can't figure out steam, you've really told us very little that we can use to help you with your problem..

Post some of this info so we at least have something to go on other than your lack of ability to get steam working.

this is the first time since ive uninstalled steam since this happened

it might be the latest nvidia drivers i downloaded because this never used to happen before

Sounds to me, and I could be wrong, that your uninstall of steam didn't qo all the way and get it all offa there.

Try the uninstall instructions here:

And then re-install HL and patch it all up to date. When you install HL if it doesn't ask you for your CD key you may have something else still rotting in the regestry.

New nvidia drivers came out today. Did you try them?

no ****, that's a total troll to say you wouldn't do something and then not tell someone why. I at least can say I've used the new drivers, they work well for me, and I'd suggest them to someone else. Give us some reasons why you think they are bad or don't bother posting, it's not really helpfull.

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! it STILL doesent work


it says when i try and run in open gl "Mode not supprted by your video card"

and when i swich to D-3d it just crashes!!!!!!!!!

*sigh......* Did you do a complete uninstall/reinstall of STEAM as billcat advised above?

As to WON not working, STEAM installs/updates HAVE been known to bork your WON client. Backup your configs and do a complete uninstall/reinstall of Half Life.
