Share Ammom And Weld Little Ppl!

<div class="IPBDescription">Simple but true....</div> In most cases marines are loaded up with more ammo than they need.. correction more ammo than they are going to use before they die.

I have not found anybody so far (other than me) who seems to be aware of this fact.

What I mean buy that is my team m8 is running around shouting "I need ammo, I need ammo" telling the aliens theres a free meal over here.
So I say to him drop ur gun to him and have mine. (I can then refill his old gun)
but the marine wont listen and runs around continuing to shout "I need ammo" while standing there with an empty gun!!.
Now if more than one skulk comes running in he is dead because he is unarmmed and it is unlikely I'll kill both before he is killed.

Simply put the comm is a busy person so .... If I have a few clips or at least one spare I share it with another marine while he waits for ammo from comm at least you then have two guns ready to fire.

Just get them to throw down the gun while filling yours, throw them yours and pick up there empty. Now fill that up it takes a few seconds to do and will save lives help hold position for longer and suprise that incoming skulk looking for easy meal.

Another one that drives me mad is ppl with welders.
Let me explain....
Im come back to base and guy is welding stuff there.
I type weld me pls...... nothing happens
I shout over using comms "#player# weld me pls" ........ again nothing
again I shout using comms #player# pls weld me" the guy looks around, stops and types 'where are you'.
IM IN FRONT OF YOU!!! I shout ....he then walks up to me, stops and types..
'but your not in heavy armour??' and walks away.

The comm at this point is laughing at what is going on.... I'm not <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

Many times it is the little bit of armour on the little guy that saves his bacon. The comm ammos and med packs him up but his armouris gone. If he is not welded he is going to die very qickly.

I finally resort to jumping in his way while he is welding a building and get patched up that way.

I thank him for his help and Im on my way again. (not that he even knew he helped me).
I tend not to go HA (I prefer JP's) unless comm needs me too.

Anyway purpose of post this is a team game so think of your team when playing...
1. Use ur heads with ammo dieing with it helps nobody (well maybe helps the aliens)
2. Remember to weld ppl who are not in HA (they need it as much if not more)

I expect that more of the long term players of NS to know/do this already but it may help some ppl. (even just one person doing this would make my day <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> )

Shout, rant and rave if ya must....
But I would rather some other posts about other usefull tips <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

You haven't looked very hard then; there's a whole anti-armory-humping society that feels that way.

However, plans that involve swapping guns, or even welders, are usually too complicated to work in the field. I'm not even sure your plan would work, since you keep the ammo for your gun on your body even if you drop a gun or die. Carrying around ammo for different guns would just make you walk slower = easy target.

Sorry if I misread anything, I just got my eyes checks and they're still slightly dilated :-p

No, see, that's the point of his plan. He drops a loaded HMG, and uses his own reserve to load the empty one.

Sadly, gun swapping in the field requires much more intelligence than you'll find on most pubs. I can totally imagine standing in the field, trying to explain this to some newbie for a full minute, and then him being mauled by a skulk anyway.

A good comm should be giving ammo to his HA train.

Yeah it does work If you can pair up with someone who knows this it works well. (a tad hard to find on most pubs though <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> )

You kinda missed the point a bit (perhaps its the way I wrote it?)
Baiscally you keep all spare ammo but drop a fully loaded gun (say lmg) then at least your team m8 has a full clip to defend himself while waiting for additional ammo instead of holding empty gun. you ick up his old (empty) gun fill it and use that. I used it many times.

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Carrying around ammo for different guns would just make you walk slower = easy target.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Not part of this post (nothing related to what I posted, again prob the the way I wrote it?) and I aggree with you on this point btw.

Swapping guns and keeping guns alive (i.e. pick up and drop dead guys guns while team m8 comes to pick it up) both work in the field, you do have to be careful mind.

    thanks for reply though <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I just wish there was a way for indivdual marines to drop an ammo pack to a buddy... then the armory humpers would be great!

"Hey Bob, I need some ammo"

    "Here you go Jim"

    "Thanks"

might even take pressure off of the comm..

oppes this is an S&I post..

Maybe a bit off topic, but I'll post it anyway. One of my favourite things to do is to tempt out skulks by asking for a medpack. They are much more likely to risk themselves if they think they are more likely to get a kill. (Works even better if you're parasited)

In case it's not obvious, you gun them down and get some lubberly RFK.

The gun switching strat is quite neat - but alas not many people think of it, and usually there is no time for it. But with practice it could be done quite well if the comm can't afford any ammo packs or is too busy elsewhere.

good idea, never wouldve thought of that (but i thought the ammo system worked like cs lol... extra ammo comes w the gun).
