There are only two things that have kept me from buying this game the moment I saw it on store shelves: 1. I have received no indication that Atari intends to patch the notorious amount of bugs. The fact that users have provided more bug-fixes than the original maker of a commercially-sold game worries me. [edit]My apologies for misrepresenting Atari, a newspost on the official website says they are in the process of making a patch. Said newspost was made 19 days ago. 2. No co-op. I don't care for Diablo style hack-n-slash [edit](I mean that if regular internet multiplay was in, it wouldn't be a positive/negative to me because I wouldn't use it anyway; I'm not saying I think ToEE is anything like Diablo, everyone/everything says it's better). Co-op is so rare these days that it's become almost an "instant buy" qualification for me; I have yet to see a recently-released co-op-enabled game that wasn't worth its price.
I seriously don't get why there's such a heavy lack of coop these days... it used to be one of the most memorable things in any game I ever played... ~huggles gunstar heroes~
oh... uh... I haven't played tToEE but is it more like NWN or Baldurs gate?

I have played the actual suplement for 3.0 of ToEE
it realy is FN DISGUSTING!!
one of our party members touched some water covering the floor of a room. Insta death, (as I remeber no saving throw, yah, just nasty)
this was the game where the GM realized that even a sorta large group of 4th lvls had null chance and just sorta handed out some of the stupidly nifty magic items at the begining of the game (thus the 1/2 orc sorc with 22 charisma )
I personally find it a lot of fun, despite the bugs. It's also fun to poke around in Python code and try to fix things, but probably most of you don't share that sentiment
Co-op is teh win. Full stop
As for TOEE, was that the same game where I read a fifteen page bug report?. I mean come on, that's a joke.

didn't ToEE (the CRPG) come out before 3.5?
Co-op would've owned indeed.
P.S. The patch is in QA testing.
