<div class="IPBDescription">well, not quite</div> How can i change the sky that is displayed? i know there is an easy solution, but i cant for the life of me work it out...

If you are using Hammer, then look for a map properties section some where in the menus. You can specify the name of your sky there.

Go to Map -> Properties and you will see an environment map (cl_skyname), where you can type in something like "space", "desert", "night", "city"... You can see the available skies in gfx\env where theyre named NAME**.tga
