I've decided to give up online gaming, so I just thought I'd post a farewall and say thanks to Flayra for making such a great game, and also thanks to the people that I know for all of the great games <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

You'll prolly catch me floating about quakenet, so prolly see you all there.

It's quite possible to do both real life stuff and online games.

Sorry, I meant by bizarre choice it's weird to completely quit.

If you think you're spending too much time, just tone it down. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

Seriously, I play lots of games, on and offline, while holding down a 40 hour a week job with as much overtime as I want, a brand new car payment, $600 apartment, blah blah blah, bills, just put a $800 stereo system in my new car, and bought a brand new computer.... blah blah, THERES ALWAYS TIME FOR GAMES!

you have as much time as you're willing to make to do what you want... like the other guys said if you're spending too much time then just cut down on the time; you don't need to go cold turkey lol <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Don't you know stak? It's better to sit on your bum and drool at a TV when you're over a certain age than do anything that might involve skill, dexterity and brainpower =P

Sorry but I'm a gamer forever and the idea of 'too old for games' comes from people who never played them in the first place or have a sheep-like attitude of following what others say without thinking about it ><

Just gotta say that my grandfather plays computer games and he's 74. I've even gotten him to play some NS once even though he's more of a turn based strategy player.

I would imagine that games based a lot off of reaction times would be less popular to those who are aging.

As we all get older, games that require more thinking over reflex and reaction power will naturally take precedence, I'd imagine. Of course, I could be wrong, but time will tell...

Yeah, I always find it amusing that playing computer games for X hours a day is usually considered much worse than watching TV for X hours a day, even though when watching TV you're just a passive vegetable but when playing computer games you're really excercising your mind.

Well I must say we have a 50 year old fragger in our clan, and when he plays, he is good, if not better than the youngins when it comes to killing and stuff....

Here is an article about him!

Sure, he's 50, but at 74 dude... your reaction times will have gone down the gutter by then. However, strategy wise, as long as you aren't senial, that would be the time you would be wisest of your entire life. You would know out to out-think an oppionent while drunk.
