<div class="IPBDescription">Using NVIDIA nForce</div> Hi there,
I'm using a NVIDIA nForce on-board soundcard. The problem is this: After a random time playing NS (it may be 5 seconds or 5 hours), the the sound problem triggers. The sound becomes garbled so it becomes hard to hear voicecom and many other sounds. Needless to say, it's irritating.
I have tried disabling audio hardware acceleration, and I have installed the latest drivers (unified drivers from nVidia). I have turned EAX and all other voice features off, and tried lowering the sound quality. None of these seem to work.
Has anyone else had the same problem, either with this card or another, or do anyone know if a possible fix?

...now im not the least bit techie so i doubt this will help, but...
How does the soundcard work with other games? If everything is buggered, try movin the sound card to a different PCI slot
If not, go Start -> Run and type 'dxdiag' and perform all the audio tests. There's a slim chance DirectX can point u in the right direction.
Finally, go into ure device driver list in the system in control panel. Make sure u only have that sound card loaded, and maybe try changing some settings there
Hope that helps

[EDIT]
Oh i see u got an on-board sound-card. From what I hear, on-board stuff is a big no-no cos its a crappy watered down version of the real thing. U can pick up a realiable Sound Blaster Pro for like 20 quid
Give these a shot and report back..
i don't know if mine is the exact problem you are having, but mine usually goes funny when there is a lot of action, aka a lot of sound. after it dies down it stays though. however, i did notice that the echo now seems to be turned way up, to the point that a footstep will echo for 6 seconds or so. now i imagine that 400 gunshots + mines + biting echoing for so long is what is causing it.
i'm not sure of a solution other than getting a different sound card, but the one in the nforce is better than most of the <$40 cards. so that means expensive upgrade...
i'm going to try experimenting with the reverb/echo controls once i can replicate the sound mess (i havent had time to play recently).
but don't bash the nf7, best board out there for that processor class, hands down.
