Magic is all great to watch. This is just boring...
You guys do realize that this is all a magic trick right? An illusion. He's probably been out of the box many many many times and has had a double come in.
As far as the losing the weight, yes that part is genuine I'm sure, as he isn't likely to have 5 course meals on his break or anything, so yes he is a little understarved, but nowhere near a near-death level. Only a complete idiot would put himself in actual harms way, the entertainment is that they make everyone THINK they are in harm's way. The acting afraid/half-dead/etc stuff is all part of the act...
As far as how they get him in and out of the box w/ nobody seeing him, I dunno how that's done. But they figure out a way to do it, that's what they do: They are illusionists, nothing magic about it...
