Marine Jumping

annoying
When you close the distance... you get that first bite in then BOOM... the marine all but disapears unless you backup and close in again (otherwise known as suicide).

I am wondering what tactics do you guys use to counteract the marine bunny syndrom?

No this is not about whining about Bunny hopping...

Drop on them, and nail them in the head first, then look up. That jump usually takes them right up into the cone of effect of that second bite

Well, I usually don't flat out bunny hop, aside from the game actually restricting it, but I will throw in a jump or two while reloading or right when the skulk gets close. Since a skulk only needs two bites, or three with lvl 1 armor, I'm going to do whatever it takes to avoid that last bite. Most people don't ever really whine too much when a marine jumps out of the way and wastes them, because most of the time the skulk still wins anyway. I can't say I've ever really been annoyed by a marine doing it to me because, lol, I'd be trying whatever it took to stay alive too.

I've tried jumping as mad as marine as well as strafing. I can say if a skulk gets close you've better chance jumping like hell than attempt to strafe. The speed reduction isn't enough as you jump over the skulk, to bite you the skulk wold need to look up all the time....

    A) Jump before you attack, so you are at head level for first bite, and leg level if he jumps for second.

    b) don't go alone, bring another skulk with you, 1 bite each, easy thing.

    c) as the other one said, get on his head

Yeah man, DFA works. Drop from above. If you're on the ground, jump at them and try for quick biting.

Otherwise, bite and run. The rine won't be going anywhere, and even though he's not dead, he's been stalled from whatever he planned to do.
