You're reading it wrong. That chart shows the <b>number</b> of shots required to kill the lifeform.
Yes it seems it doesnt count Half-Damage from OCs...

Yeah, that's because it's completely impossibe for your source to be right. It claims accuracy for all versions 2.0-2.01, and lots of things changed. If you want real numbers, you'll have to for your own (or get someone to do it for ya).
Carapace is not useless, btw. Regen is extremely potent when the marines can't kill you fast enough to prevent you from healing as you go, but if they can concentrate considerable firepower, carapace is the only thing that can get you out alive. It's about a 30% effective increase in health, while regen is just fast recovery of lower health.
A basic marine's armor absorption is 30%. This means 70% of damage is not absorbed, and goes to health. 70% of 7 is 4.9, rounded to 5. Notice that, as a basic marine, you take 5 health damage per half-second from spores.

Hmm... I could get 30% increase in my HP, or I could regen 10% of it at a whack....
HMMMMMMM tough one.
For any other class you get 50% increase in hp from carapace, which is well worth it, but not with the onos.
If source isnt updated correctly to 2.01 values then all work was for nothing new :[ I *hope* they are correct... :/
(Lerk spores are also 7/half sec, as stated earlier)
