<div class="IPBDescription">When you can, end it!</div> Yesterday, played a game of hera. It started out small for the first 8 minutes, then more players came and the total was 9v7.
Anyways, starting hive was vent, rines relocated to Hear Reception and aliens (I was aliens) got Data. Well, all of a sudden we find a TF and siege turrets in vent and it's gone. Aliens hit a slippery slope, we put up a hive and all the upgardes, hive goes down. We lose data core, after having put up archiving. We then lose archiving and manage to get vent back. We then clear out archiving and put it back up. Game has now gone on for about 50 minutes, marines have all upgrades, and could have ended the game at least three times. But they ended up screwing around and dieing easily. We then managed to get almost all the RTs on the map and then had two onos, a lerk and a couple of gorges. We take out hera and they relocate to the area they sieged data at and we end it there since they have only one IP. [/Cliff's Notes]
The moral, if the marines can end the game, then do so. Letting it drag out for even five minutes gives aliens enough time to regroup and push back and possibley win. All it takes is a well organized assault with two onos, a lerk and some skulks to level a marine base in seconds.

You simply cannot afford to let aliens regroup, since a dedicated alien rush will destroy most bases - and can end the game if they get your CC and IPs. While your ammo runs out, the aliens can simply rebuild any hive the rines knock down, and eventually its GG.
The flipside is that if you rush while unready, your team will get destroyed. Smart comms need to know which situation is which.
