Dual Monitors

Hey there. Does anybody know of any games that support a dual monitor setup? Cuz I just got a new video card that allows two monitors and I think it would be so cool if I could play a game using both monitors
Thanks

well useing dual monitors depends on what card you have. so for i have a geforce FX 5600 and it should work simarly to what other duel monitor systems work. first of all when useing deul monitors it drops your frame rate a little, only noticable when plating games. wiht one monitor you get 100 fps, with dual you may get 60 fps on both monitors.

your 2nd monitor can run in 2 modes. a clone of your 1st moitor, or an extention to your desktop. depending on what card and drivers you have, you can peform differnet functions wiht it.

what i think your tring to do is expanding your feild of view with 2 monitors, most games will not support this and you will most likly just get a blank screen on your 2nd monitor.

useing a special function on your 2nd monitor (driver dependant) you can have a zoomed clone of your 1st monitor on your 2nd monitor. i have seem some lamas use that as a sniper aid.

dual monitors are best suited for graphic or movie production. not realy for gaming. i thought the exact same before when i could suport two monitors at first.

well kind of, wiht TV out you can only show what's on your regular monitor at a low frame rate, at 640 * 480. older video cards would have to match the monitor's frame rate and resolution to save video crad prossesing time. the newer video cards can now render both out-puts independant of each other, and at higher reslution. dual monitor suport measn that you can run 2 monitors at any resolution or frame rate that your video card and monitors top out at.

Actually, IIRC there is a Q3A mod that allows multimonitors. Panoramic Quake, or something of the sort. Essentially draws the forward, left, and right sides... er, if you have a triple-monitor setup. I believe it can be configured for dual-monitor support, but I haven't messed with it.

Additionally, I've no idea what you mean when you say that turning on TV-Out will lower framerates.. so long as it's set to Clone Mode, the only thing that gets stressed at all is the RAMDAC. Radeons have two (haven't tried to see if you can have dual monitors AND a TV at the same time), so there's no slowdown there. I'm sure there would be if you were rendering two viewplanes. Probably on HL it'd be much less than half-cut, with the 100fps cap normally. Problem being, I play HL at 1600x1200x32 on my main monitor, and my secondary only can manage to strain itself up (with much whining, literally) to 1024x768. TV support goes up to 1024x768, but is obviously dithered down as (IIRC) NTSC standard is something like 512x???.

That TV probably cost more than a nice sized car. GG captialism.

i managed to hook my tv out up to a tv and watch DVDs downstairs. I also managed to play Generals on the TV by cloning the view. I dont really have enough space for two monitors, so i just stick with one.

Why I love my Radeon. First vid card I've had with GOOD TV-Out capabilities. Have all my old NES, SNES, SMS, Genesis, Atari, and gameboy games saved as ROMs (yes, they're all legal as I own the cartridges) and a couple of USB gamepads. No worry about wearing out the carts, no need to sort through a hundred boxes just to find the one title I want to play... the only complaint I have is that I don't have controllers from each system to plug into it, to get the 'feel' of the old platforms. That and I can't get Sonic CD to play properly with the music, which was the best part of the game.
