For example, if you're trying to view a model you downloaded that has both a model.mdl and a modelt.mdl from its zip file, you'll get that error because HLMV wants both models to be in the same place (ie extracted) - the same happens when trying to view something directly from a .pak file.
don't try to open the xxxxxxT.mdl files

don't open mdl files that are still inside a zip.... this is a common practice in linux/unix, wehre you can view and modify (maybe?) files inside of a compressed file.... but in windows, it's a no-no.. and this is reason #1....
actually, just highlight both the xxx.mdl and xxxt.mdl files, right click and choose open. youll get 2 windows of HLMV and one should have the textured model

This is a modified version that allows you to view transparency + additive textures (and modify them). Also has neat options for modifying weapon origins, viewing UV maps, etc.

Generally means its just the textures, and no frame/model.
If its something NOT NS related, then its probably a borked MDL file.
you CAN open them, it just doesn't show you anthing un the 3D model area click over to texture, and that's all that is there

extract it first... then view around.
What's the point of that? you could just open the non-T one and get the textured model
