Please help, Linksys Wireless Router - B
I've just installed a new router on my home connection, and now, Internet works, but NS and any non-standard port programs won't connect/work.

I've got a Linksys Wireless 4 port Router - B version 4, I've got all ports unblocked and the DMZ on, still nothing(Using wireless or the cat5 wire). If anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix it please post .

Had no problems with my previous router(same thing but a 'G' version, not B, unfortunately that baby died). Also, connecting my PC right to the internet works, so I duno what's up.

Thanks -Khaim.

The sooner this thing is fixed the sooner I can get back to playing NS 2.1/NS:Combat whee!

You have all the ports open, are you sure they're being forwarded to the right IP? AFAIK you really shouldn't need any ports open for HL to work behind a NAT box, but then again I custom built my router and haven't ever worked with any other ones (except CISCO 2500s and such).

Yup, all ports are forwarding to the correct local ip, checked that a couple times.

Are you having a problem Hosting? Or Connecting?

    edit:

    What OS BTW?

If win2k/xp got to Start>Run>Command Promt

    Type IPCONFIG /release

    then IPCONFIG /renew

And you dont need to port forward if your in the DMZ I think its using your OLD IP in your DMZ setting thats all..

XP paws, and i've already tried it , i was using both port forwarding and dmz both because trying each one alone itself didnt work either, so i said 'screw it i'll just enable the dmz and forwarding just to make sure'. No luck though, i've tried about ten million times, making sure i have the right local ip, and still nothing >.< and connecting, not hosting.

Did you remember to reset your internet? Turn it off, unplug the power for 60 seconds, then plug back in and turn on. I had to figure that out after sitting on Adelphia Tech Support for 30 mins, only to hear that suggestion play.
