<div class="IPBDescription">gimme some help ;x</div> When I am at this step in the VHE:

** Executing...
** Command: C:\PROGRA~1\Steam\STEAMA~1\my-email-address\HALF-L~1\hl.exe
** Parameters: -game ns -32bpp -dev +map "dog"

I get an error message that says:

Failed not run game. You have multiple installs of Steam on your drive, and the game you tried to run is from a different version.

The only way I managed to map with steam is to use all the wads and everything in the original folders, not the steam ones. I find that it works, then once the finished product is ready, move your bsp over to the correct position.

I build like normal. Then place my BSP and any other resources. (Sprites, Models etc.) In the appropriate Steam NS Folder.

    HD:/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/youremail.@anonymous.com/ns/

Works for me. Sorry I can't really help.

Oh Darf! Just reread your post! Just check the "Do Not Run Game" box in VHE. Then load up NS in Steam and run the console. (~) Type, "map dog" (or the name of your map) without the quotes.
