Calm
Ok. First of all I want to say I am sorry for SLANDER on the msg boards/ forums. Its just me and DOT (.) play so many games, and half of them have been, bad admins / cheaters. We just get really tired of the crap. And we dont mean to cause trouble on the Forums. But I did however tonight capture of a demo
of a player named God cheating. its just really sad that people just cant play the game that the NS team developed, they way they made it.

That is all

maybe you're playing on the wrong servers...

i get sick of cheaters and exploiters too, some exploits are ok but using the tequnique to take no damage while on certain structures just stuffs up the game so badly(im not going to mention how to use this exploit so dont ask) Glitches in the game arent as hard to spot as youd think they are. To the people who use them to there advantage I say: "Nuts to you"
I say we do the Screen shot system like on the XWIS yuri system, when some one acuses you of cheating and they say screen shot plz, or for short ss plz, you must take a shot of the exact moment and post it on these boards, with the persons name and msg on the screen shot, its a good way of prooving whos cheating and who aint

I dunno... cheating is Very commen... at one point Valve released a statistic that !!!!47%!!! of HL players cheat, AVG amongst all mods (NOT JUST CS). I found this statistic on Valve's webpage (www.valvesoftware.com [?]) about a year ago. I dont remember the details, but I remember being convinced that they optained this statistic reliably, I just cant remember how. Maybe Ill Email them about it. I dunno.
Naturally , this statistic WASNT formed when NS was around , but I find it difficult to believe that NS is somehow immune to all the CRAP and B.S. that is Hacking, or that Hacking is any less commen. Ive been playing HL since it first came out [5 years], and cheating IMHO is on a slow but steady rise. Im not angry , Im not bitter. I can deal with it. I just dont think many people are aware of it. I guess this is a warning.

I'd suggest playing on a server with active admins. Usually on Lunixmonster, if anyone is accused of cheating (including map-exploits on Comm mode) an Admin is normally quite happy to go and spectate them to make sure... and if they are, to dole out an immediate ban.

Thats usually what happens but while theres a few admins theres 3 servers over here that they cant be on all the time. I reckon the screenshoit thing is a pretty good idea seeing that they have to take a screenshot while the text from the player is on screen giving them very little time to turn off the hacks or get out of the exploit . It could work while admins arent on servers for those who just NEED to know if that person is hacking. I get accused of it quite alot after pulling off some bs moves but i just point at the big admin in the sky and say "Take it up with him", or if there isnt one around ill send em a screen shot or post it on the anti-hacking forum for the servers, no hacks means no ban, ingenius isnt it??

You will never get rid of cheating, full stop. So called "exploits" (most of which are actually features) are fine, as long as they aren't something overly stupid like a spectator-bug which allows you to kill anyone in spec-mode.

ss isn't the best idea I'm afraid.

We have to be proactive in helping new players both to NS and to HL in general. New players to HL will most likely not know what key to press, or console command to type to get a screenshot.

As talesin said, go to servers with active admins, and preferably those running CD (but please don't lets get into a debate about CD vs VAC or "CD is crap" etc etc, this isn't the place!).

The screenshot thing is a waste of time and isn't secure. It's not hard to fake screenshots nowadays, so I'm glad a global banlist doesn't exist as there'd be a lot of mischief going on.

not while some of us are having useful and constructive discussion. I'm guessing that doesn't apply to everyone though :/

It seems that some of our fellow forum posters are Joining the Forum Gestappo; IE whenever they see a post they dont like or think isnt PERFECTLY appropriate they whine to admins. LAME. Admins can do their job on their own. Posting "ban this please Mr. big shot admin" is just wasted space. Its becomeing a pet peeve for me. If you dont agree with it , dont read it. Just skip it. If someone posts something stupid, and they get no replys , they can figure out on thier own that they are dipshits. Easy. I get really annoyed when a perhaps politically incorrect or taboo post that results in allot if interesting and worthwhile conversation gets a bunch of "ban this/lock this" posts. I can understand maybe MOVING the post to a better place (like "off topic area") may make sense, but going outright closing down a topic often feels far too srict. This is the Net, its about the freedom of expression and the free flow of ideas. Moderate in moderation .

reminds of an UBER song by Metallica:

    Doesn't Matter What You See
Or into it What You Read
You Can Do it Your Own Way
If It's Done Just How I Say

anyhoo, not trying to be lame, just speaking my mind. Im mostly curious of what the moderators think of this.
