Names for the aliens

I love bob, but seriously...
as much as i love the little nicknames weve all given the aliens. i feel that they deserve a bit more. Bob, pudgy, polly, those are very non-threatening names. they sound like stuffed animals.
so here is a thread to discuss more serious names, those to be used in the NS literature and fan fiction
most of the previous discussion for alien names has been focused along the lines of what marines would call them. since the marines would likely not have a fondness for something that eats their comrade, these names would be slightly derogatory but mostly slang terms.
for example, i believe greedo coined 'fat momma' for the level 5.
needed also are the more technical names, stuff that will be used at security meetings of the TSA and other organisations back at earth/mars/colonies...
these would likely be scientific names and then the shortening thereof for the public.
and then of course there would be some media names, catchy, flashy but likely out of touch. eg calling bob 'dog-alien'... perhaps one can relate to him, but if you ever have one going for your throat, there's no #$%&ing way you'll mistake him for a dog!
so to get the ball rolling...
marine slang
lvl1: stalker
lvl2: puker (as in vomiting up structures)
lvl3: dactyloid
lvl4: blinker
lvl5: juggernaught
scientific names
Expiohostis as the genus name for all five lvls.
-this roughly means a strange threatening power of unkown origin
for species names i only have one so far, which is bob's of course.
delquescus -which means to vanish, disapper, dissolve
media names
-well, i hate media, so someone else can deal with this part ~;)

I'm thinking that we don't have enough backstory for the aliens to do this quite yet though. (Come onnnn! Give us the -backstory- already! )
I'm sorry, but the level 1 is definitely NOT Bob. Or Harry. Or Joe. You get the idea.

So, now that that's out of the way. I definitely agree with the different names for different situations. I'd say crawler, builder, flyer, blinker, and fat momma are my opinions for marine slang. Other than that, I've got no ideas.
"Hey you shot my little jimmy!"
"Your jimmy? he was mine I had that jimmy long before you did"

My recomendations are for names that are based on classic mythical creatures.
One day, I said two words in a post. "Or Bob!". That's all. And suddenly, the entire forum is calling the Class One alien "Bob". Nicknames are indeed strange and fickle things.
Ex: "Look out stewart theres a big momma!"
" AH MY FACE!! AJKSLHDASJIDHLAKSJDHLjjjka......"
eh?
"What about Bob?"
(That's odd, I'm wearing a shirt that says "All your base are belong to us!" right now!
here's my idea for names
Level 1: Bob (and that FINAL)
LEvel 2: Fatty (although when I run into his traps I'll probably be callin' him a Fat F#$&er)
Level 3: Dumbo (I've a magic feather that lets me fly!
Level 4: Blinky (I was there, now I'm eating your head)
Level 5: Tiny Tim (C'mon, tiny... it's just so, so... NATURAL)
well slang ones at least that'll be common, official names thou:
Level 1: Brood dog
Level 2: Hive builder
Level 3: Air Stalker
Level 4: Tele-grunt
Level 5: Bethmoth
Expiohostis expiohostis delequescus -for Bob (lvl 1), it means to vanish as ive said before... (or maybe E. e. bobii
E. e. muniohorus -Pudgy (lvl 2), munio; to fortify, defend and horum; fat/pudgy
E. e. volaticus -lvl 3, meaning winged, flying
E. e. exoriobellator -lvl 4, exorior; spring up, appear and bellator; warrior, fighter
E. e. molobdurus -lvl 5, moles; massive, huge bulk and obdure; persist, endure, hold out
ph34r my 1337 latin BS! (actually, u can look them up)
(edit)im very embarassed. Yama just reminded me that the aliens are all in one species designation. shupid me, i was arguing a concept related to this for my initiate post. therefore the above are not actually species designations but 'morph' designations. theyre not even distinct at the subspecies level, but i feel that scientists would apply such a taxonomic distinction for simplicity's sake. (/edit)
I still have time to think about the others...
Now i must Fly on my Rocket, and put mr.Marines Thinking cap on.
Cars man. Cars.
it takes me about 12 seconds for my car to run the quarter mile after spending around $8,000 on the engine and other stuff, and getting 360 horse power (peak 360 @ 8500 RPMs, 325 average). (see "VROOM!!!" in the off topic forums for more details)
My bud I've known since forever ago spent less than half the amount of money of money than I did on his car, and he's got nearly twice as much power, runs the quarter mile a lot faster than I, and is researching some mods (modifications) to his engine to make his car go even faster.
Although I got him beat in gas milage
I say keep it part of the NS culture, not part of NS itself.
As for scientific names, how about calling Bob "Exiguus Hibrida" (excuse my rusty Latin), which means "Little Mongrel"...
"DAMN that's one ugly mut..."
"Just a pack of those little mongrels, sir - nothing the sentry can't take."
At the end of the day, it rests in the hands of the Halo'd Developers.
Maybe somebody should create an NS dedicated to the NS world - history, fan fic, maybe art...all that stuff.
Curse my feeble memory!
"Oi! Look at this 'ere Bob! She's GORGEOUS!"
