Making Onos V Weapons? Annoyed At Guffo Animation?

<div class="IPBDescription">Then do we have a tale for you....</div> Ok chimps, here's how it works. The onos animations are normally borked to hell. Flayra himself said they acted a bit funny. Some do many things, some do nothing. Those of you making ULTRALISK or ALIENS v models should pay close attention to the following. For YOUR benefit, here is what I believe to be an EXACT list of the Onos v weapon quirks.
Idle animations appear to be screwed. Period. They just do NOT play properly. Devour idle DOES WORK. The other three don't. Thus, your gore, charge and stomp idles must ALL use the same v model, or at least start and end with the same v model.... otherwise it'll look bad. If you're making v models, make your devour model something impressive and special - its the only one you really have any freedom in.
Stomp-charge is REALLY stomp-gore.
Devour-charge is REALLY devour-gore
Charge attack is REALLY gore-charge
And the DRAW animation is really charge-gore
I intend to find out the lerks quirks as well. But for anyone doing v weapons, it looks like the onos is generally going to come out screwy UNLESS you've a very simple model using the same models on screen all the time. The onos v model doesnt.. thats how you can notice mistakes. The ALIENS one I made doesn't... thats how its not right.
I think you COULD do it with the Ultralisk, but good luck to whoever tries (I gave up when I couldn't even get the basic v model aligned correctly).
I hope this ends up in a sticky or somewhere relevant for anyone attempting Onos/Lerk v models.

No, it doesn't means there will be no pack.
If you leave out ANY animation, the following animations in the list will not work. HL appears to read the file in terms of location. You can call the animation anything you like, HL will read the first one in the list as an idle, no matter what you called it or what you think it should be.
This applies to ALL models.
In the case of cookies zergling, he'd left out one animation and that threw the remaining four off. Try to avoid this mistake.
Hopefully using the above guidelines, v modellers should have less problems. Currently I'm optimising my Alien Onos and Lerk to fit these new criteria. I hope other people find it useful.
For others in the community, please note that we're perfectionists, and I want to release a seamless Onos and Lerk model. Likewise, Cookie wants seamless animations. Now we've thrashed out WHAT the errors are, it should be easy to finalise and clean up.

I think I ended up deleting it. Hrm. Well if anyone has a *model* I can try the animating bit...... no day job, no school - so if I can do it, it'd be done quickly, I can assure you of that.
I'm mainly just annoyed at the bugginess- it means effectively your Charge animations are just identical to gore. The charge attack itself is just a repeat of gore_charge. On the plus side, its means 1/4 less animation to create, hehe.
When I finish this onos, I'll try to chop the ultralisk model down to little pieces again... and probably the muta too.

back to topic, i think i read something on the ultralisk readme about , the reason taht the v-models are really screwed up is because they cound't model it properly unless they cahnged the v_models around.
long story cut short
they had to make the v_models screwed becasue if not then there would be no model
