A Rather Large Concept

<div class="IPBDescription">Starship troopers.. Oh yea baby!</div> I have practically no experience in making anything except for sandwiches..lol

I was wondering if this was possible :

Make a large outdoor map, ressembling the whiskey outpost in starship troopers (ill post a picture later if i find one)
Players will be marines and Aliens will be bots.
Get the starship trooper modification and to add some feeling to it
Marine should hold the outpost
The commander can build the usual stuff (but onl within the base)
Aliens can breach the walls and stuff

This project would require to finish the starship troopers mod
A new map, and some bots. If all goes well ill see if we can get a dedicated server for that.

This is a really basic concept of the idea, and it would be complicated to make.
Dont kill me, its my very first post! :-P
Any comments are gladly accepted

    Large outdoor areas rarely work in HLs engine. (case in point, the cliffside area in "surface tension" in HL SP)

    Yea i think it would work better with hl 2, especially with new ai capabilities for bots
    but ive seen some big maps for ns out there that works quite well. Maybe we can make it small and make it look big or something..lol...

    Oh and it might also work better with the new combat mode thats coming out for ns...we gotta see...

    Firstly...this belongs in the mapping thread, i feel.

    Secondly, great idea!     Errmm.. sorry, i didnt know this was your old account name O.o;; but erm yea... all the other account names i tried such as USCM which is my default name in ns was already taken... ya ****..lol

    not totally i mean they are different but the color scheme is quite similar. I think he posted this in NSC because he was looking to get the models done not the map first. But meh your call.

    I know how you feel.... I myself am waiting for a lifesize arachnid warrior bug to shoot at in ns...

    Well any mappers want to take the challenge and try to map my concept? We could try make a beta one for the regular hl engine and whenever hl2 gets released then we can make a version 2.0 of the map :-P

    And It would be great if the modelers finish the models to add realism to the map...
