So inspiring
Just been working on ns_nexus9 all morning. Decided to block in all my rooms (give them walls) and did my first full compile (without using the Hammer cordon). Took me about 3 hours to find all the leaks and get rid of them (like 20 invalid brushes, about 20 stupid leaks and some misaligned edges). Things are going well. I have solid geometry work done in three rooms now and basic layout of about 7 done. This map is going to be huge (but average sized by NS standards of course)

Anyway, after reading this forum for about 15 minutes I go from exausted (due to leak finding) to inspired again.

Good work all.

Always so good to see people inspired by other mappers work. And it's always so good to see new guys come to the scene and make some art for all of us NS players to enjoy. I would love to see your works very soon

Good Good. Quick, and slightly offtopic question though... What do leaks cause, why are they bad?

Leaks cause the compiler to not be able to tell which side of your walls is inside. It stops them from stripping off the outside faces, and vis doesn't run. Since rad uses vis in part, it also doesn't run.

While you can play a map with a leak, it isn't fun. It would be all fullbright, and HL would unnecessarily render obscured faces.
