<div class="IPBDescription">Who and what gets hit by it</div> Posting in here as it fels like a bit of a n00b question I dont know the answer (though I play quite a bit). <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif'><!--endemo-->

Ive tried searches and I can find some info on it however ....

The Siege cannon:
It does around 330-350 damage to target (It think)
I know Splash damage is lower further out but...
What is the range of splash damage from these?<!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> (is it the rings?)

Also.... Ive ben killed as alien and as a marine by splash damage from siege but will it do damage marine buildings??

Most searches find info on Bile bomb which is :
No damage through thin walls/brushes and I know that it does no damage to anything other that marine structures.
So thats ok.

Its just that I cant find an answer to the above 2 siege questions.
It would be a huge help if someone could answer this for me.

Thanks... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

You have been killed as marine by siege?? WTH !?!?
Well it might be possible if friendly fire is on, but I'am not sure. I haven't ever died as marine by sieges splash damage. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

No, it doesn't do any damage on own buildings.

Range is pretty much the ring. So what could I say, maybe 10 meters. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
And you have to be on the same level. If hive is above you and siege shoots it, you wont take any damage.

Some servers have modded siege cannons that do FF dmg even when FF is off, it's a pity more haven't followed...

Seige splash damage fades out pretty quickly Unless you are a skulk, or you are standing right next to whatever gets hit, you probably will survive the first one or two blasts. It's possible to be healed by a hive that is being seiged without getting hit by the seige blast.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that sieges damaged everything, friend or foe, unit or building with their splash damage. If it's a modification rather than just part of the normal game then it's the first I've ever heard of it o.O

I'm pretty sure friendly fire from sieges works just like friendly fire from grenades: Only the owner can be damaged. That means if a siege shoots at an alien building right next to itself, it will hurt itself. But it won't hurt other marine buildings or other marines.

However, if you are the com that dropped the siege, I think the game recognizes you as the owner, so if you get out of your com chair you can then be hurt by it.

As far as the actual range goes: I've been badly hurt by those things (as an alien) from surprisingly far away from the building they were shooting at, and likewise I've been barely scratched while standing much closer to the buildings. It seems somewhat random and unpredictable to me.

It was a bug with 2.0, I dont know if theyve fixed it.

I did read somewhere that the siege would damage itself if it attacks something too close.

As for the range, the damage ring is 2d. ie, if you are sitting above, on or below the structure being attacked, you wont be killed
