Halo For Pc (again)

<div class="IPBDescription">This time i've got something new</div> Ok, so I don't feel like Necromancing a dead thread because it was a bad thread (IMHO).

Well, my copy of Halo arrived today. Installed it the second I found it. That was 3 hours ago. So, i decided to emerge and post some pics of the new stuff.

There are two Warthogs. One is the standard, the other is the rocket launcher one. Rocket launcher is only multiplayer.

Btw....post me your system specs, and a screenie of you playing in heavy combat with your FPS (Press Ctrl+F12 to get fps)

Many peeps are getting performance problems, so...not to ruin it or anything but the games a week old and has had 2 patches <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'>

I get 40-60FPS Online With my....

AMD Athlon XP2700+
512DDR
WinXPPro
GF4TI4200(I realize this card is not DX9.0b compatable, although I disabled the shaders (2.0 for DX9) and enabled version 1.4Shaders instead)

Single player I get 20-60 (30ish high combat)
All graphics maxed out.

Well, Im sad - I bought Halo Monday and i was done with the single player on wednesday(and that was only about 3hours a day) - The multiplayer is filled with tkin noobs

If you just read that your prolly thinking you shouldnt buy it..but i guess it was worth it. 50$

All those shots were with graphics on High. The only reason they are kind of crap is that I have it set on 800x600. Now that I have everything at a lower setting for multiplayer, i might run it at 1024 x 768

Online, the only issue i've had is with connection issues, but most games will have connection problems straight out of the box when the game is as...demanding as Halo. Still, it only happens every once in a while, and even then it's simply fixed with a reconnect.

I already have halo on xbox, and it's still a fun game. Honestly, I don't think i'll bother with getting haloPC for myself (unless i get one for free as a gift, that is). I'd rather keep the money for Halo 2.

If you have Halo on Xbox, don't bother with PC version. The FRG & Rocket Puma are fun, but not worth choking up your computer.

Anyone else with HPC notice that it's on a DVD?

Just completed it, it's good in most parts but by God, which chump thought up The Flood race and The Library levels? They almost stopped me playing the game entirely...

Meh. I reallyenjoyed those parts, simply for their "breaking-up" of the normal HALO fare. Tell me honestly - would you rather have them overkill the covenant envolvement and just create boredom and apathy? Come on - this in Bungie, for Christ's sake. My brothers friend played multip;ayer at my house, the maps are too small IMO. The single player is actually fun I'm doing it on Hard and some parts of it actually take me a couple of tries to pass.

I'm in the process of rescuing the captain right now.

Yeah - unfortunately the tank and ghosts are a little unbalanced for anything short of 6v6+ Once one gets past those numbers, though, the person in that tin can doesn't last very long <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

Of course, the ubar sexckeh chaingun warthog is balanced anywhere. I wuv my warthog.

Oh yeah - and is it just me, or does the idea of a rocket-launcher turret on a warthog sound a little....<i>broken</i>?

Hehe they did hand me my **** a few times, but not when I had some ammo for my trusty boomstick. It's not so much The Flood, I didn't mind a 3rd party, in fact I actively want some variety, it's just that The Library was simple cut and paste jobs that went on far too long. Cut the length of The Library chapters by a third, and add some more variety to the Covenent and Flood forces, and you'd have an even better game <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>
Oh and add co-op back, the lack of it is criminal!

Well halo pc arrived. But it refuses to work, as apparantly my card doesnt support 3d accelleration....... yeah..right. GeForce 4ti4600 not supporting 3d accelleration?..

well, it's definitely fun and I enjoy smacking people in the face with the rifle too much... plus I don't think the training officers would have ever of approved of my 'scope? what scope?' combat sniping ^^;

The only problem is the framerates are still too low for my liking. I logged onto multiplayer to autopatch and I'm 1.2 now but while playable my framerates are enough to get me grinding my teeth anyways. I want to play it smoothly ><
