I wont comment of the irony of that remark.
He runs into a room full of marines. Since, its on easy mode, they don't even hit him when he stands still. he just stands there taking time to point his gun at them and shoot. After the battle, he has 89 hp and 67 armour (full b4). He comes and tells me that he mastered hl and that he can kick total @ss in multi. I watch him get online, and get his @ss get kicked so badly its not funny. he got a rec like 2-60 after 20min. Always using the same strat. So, the moral of this story is that sp is only good to learn the basics and controls, and taht mp is the best to master someone's skill. (I sounded pretty pathetic didn't I?)
Sure, there's no way to even compare sp game playing to the skill of deathmatch online, but I think you could make a similar mistake of thinking you could beat any sp game just because you get 10f/d in DM. In single player games you cannot learn the maps as such, and you can't go another route to come round the back of your enemies.
Also, if he was playing on easy then I don't think he could be a master of anything, play on hard, it's a much more even battle at times.
You can play sp as deathmatch but you will often loose a lot more ammo and health. Afterall, the difference between dm and sp in HL is that grunts have 100% accuracy (even on easy they never miss), even if the mp5 they use only takes 1pt of energy off and no health on normal.
Also, I think it misses the point of single player if you just treat it like deathmatch practice (not that anyone does, but it's an amusing concept).
thats so true, hopefully we can stop them from reducing NS to the rubbish CS is today
