    They gutted it.

    The Lamurians and ocean areas are gone.  There are a whopping THREE "confirmed" races, with more on the drawing board.  The three confirmed are Humans, Dragons, and "Fiends" - some *lame* replacement for the Demons.  Do you remember the Demons and Angels?  How frikkin cool they were, especially the demons with that sick cloak and all?  Gone.  Ssslik are gone.  Saris are gone.

    Frankly, I caught up on it a few days ago... seems like the entire premise now is "Look!  We have DRAGONS!!!  DRAGONS!!!!"  They've completely abandoned everything that made Horizons so revolutionary.  ):  Personally, I'm looking at Shadowbane right now.

    Horizons could've been so great... But Artifact Entertainment had to 'Disappear'. >=\ I had my heart set on being an Angel, but noooOOooo...

    I looked at Shadowbane, and it doesn't look as interesting in the races arena. What's attracting you to it?

    Trade skills, and the fact that it really focuses on *groups* rather than individuals.  I'm not talking parties... I'm talking about a guild building a city, cities banding together into a province, and provinces forming nations.  They're really focusing on making the *societies* work.

    I'm part of a group of disaffected former-Horizons followers... we're debating starting a guild, saving up a buttload of cash, and eventually building our own city.  Want a piece?  (:

    Hm. I never was -too- much into PvP, and only was joining Horizons 'cause it -was- so revolutionary... Though... I really do like the idea of a Summoning Warlock Aelfborn or somesuch. And anything with a semi-enforced community with nations and city building...

    Yeah, I want in.
