Need mesher!
so i'm making the colt ar15a3 (yeah i know the colt rifles look basically the same but still) and i started to mesh the damned thing and my lithunwrap screws up so now my hours worth of meshing is down the drain, so i'm asking someone to please mesh it for me, and if they do i will put your name in the credits.

get on aim (Me7a11ica is mine) or MSN (i_am_bored247365@hotmail.com) if you would help me out and mesh this.

nice model but it could use some more detail dont you think, especially on the receiver.
and the mag is too thin

could but this is mainly for the mod redwinter, which has very low detailed guns, hell this is high detailed compaired to their models now. that plus i'm really still a beginner modeller in my mind so more complex models are out of the question right now. Plus meshing it. the less detail the easier to mesh, if i could find a mesher that was content with meshing high-detail i would go into more detail, but if i'm going to make the model, animation and possibly the skins, i dont want to be arsed to do the uv map, too. its just too tedious, and you dont get any results till the end, and i dont like that. If you want, i can make it more detailed, however i wont mesh it if it gets too much more detailed.

lol thanks. besides nub << beginner. and i'm still not great. i could do better if i tried a little harder probably (the RW team is lucky i tried this hard, the first front grip i had was just 1 cylinder) but its just the meshing that gets me. i hate doing it. i dont mind modeling, animating or skinning. so yeah

well you see, i would have fixxed that however whenever i mesh (using lith) it erases my shading groups, so i have to redo them. therefore i didnt fix it yet. you see?

i dunno why, but cinema 4d messes up my smoothing, how do you fix that?
  • BAshhBAshh Join Date: 2003-08-26 Member: 20222Members, NS1 Playtester, Contributor
i dont know it messed up mine too, if you cant tell, it's a little messed up. although for me it could because of going into milkshape to make it a .3ds. if i had 3ds max to save as a .3ds file, its possible that it wouldnt screw up the shading, but then again i dont have that. im not sure how to fix the shading. if anyone knows, please help

i think its Cinema 4d's fault. My RTX1911 model in .3ds format look fine in rendered brazil/right hemisphere/ms3d but when i opened it up in Cinema 4d, it messes up all my smoothing

Thats because the program isnt called Right Hemisphere, thats the name of the campany that makes it. The Program you want is called "Deep Exploration", for rendering at least. For skinning and meshing, they make a program called Deep Paint.. Which kinda sucks.
