One Setting
<div class="IPBDescription">If youve got a ethernet modem</div> So one day I was messing around with my settings to optomize with my comp when i found this:
Go to Cont. Panel>System>Device Manage which might be under another tab.
Now open up ur network card and double click.Under advance go to Link Speed/Duplex Mode and click on 100 full.I see this boosting my internet greatly and although this will also boost 56k modems if u find ur com3 port im not sure about USB cable modems.

think that setting must be particular to your ethernet card, acuzza I can't find it in mine :>

I'm scared to alter things like this. Although it's fairly
easy to restore. I'll give it a try when my Steam stuff is sorted
and updated.
The speed at which you connect to your modem will not affect your down/up speed.
Unless you get greater then 10MB/sec, running in 10MB wont hurt..
Unless you are talking about LAN games
