A New Hl Mod

Many people have been asking about Last life. "What is new", "What's so good about it?". Last Life is a team-based game like Counter-Strike and TFC mod. We are aiming to get all well-known teams like:
• Black Mesa (scientists and security gaurds)
• Marine Grunts (shotgun guys, recons, grenadiers, and commander)
• Alien Faction (slaves, grunts, headcrabs, [maybe a] garg, and new ones)
• Black Operations (grenadier, nightvision, shotgun, [and possibly new ones])
There will probably be around 5 types of Game Modes:
• Capture the Flag (4 way CTF)
• Domination (capture all flags)
• Deathmatch
• Missions
• Capture the weapon
This game will not be like Counter-Strike where all people have the same hands. We are making each team have different hands so you can experience actual fun and realism. New weapons will also be introduced.
We will ofcourse will have reload animations which will make other mods go to shame.
Aliens evolve by killing there enemies. Example: When a headcrab kills someone it turns into a zombie.
The mod is run by daza400 aka buzzcut, t our original site is down at the moment so we will be using our sister site for the time being, the sister site is called LastLaugh and it can be found here: <a href='http://buyitem.net/~tweek/lastlaugh/' target='_blank'>[clickeh]</a>

-Gamer tells game creators to fix flaws and add a billion new things
-Gamer is unhappy because billion things weren't added
-Gamer wants to make his own game, which will have a billion weapons, a billion species, you can go anywhere, etc.

In other words: look at this mod for Elite Force, <a href='http://www.darkproject.org' target='_blank'>TDP</a>. The people were working on it for 3 years, and they gave up a week ago or so. Why? It was too much for them to handle.
Sure, they weren't newbies at whatever they were doing, but they started something that was too much for them. I hope this doesn't happen to this mod. You should do what you can, but don't give us promises that you'll do this and that and then give up later.

Firstly How dare you cool me a n00b. Secondly this project has been in the works for over 6 months. Thirdly We are holding back on info becaus we don't want to give too much out.

Sorry i wasn't "with it" when i wrote that up. What i ment was that the reloading system is: 1) the player model will reload the gun 2) The clip shall fall on the ground 3) the p_weapon model will interact with the player model (Meaning the clip WILL go out of the gun <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->)
If it has a low turnout, it's not unusual. There are probably hundreds of mods for Half Life, most of which you don't even hear about. Many of which start up then die. Getting a mod released is a huge deal; and maybe what you are trying to acheive isn't as unique as some of the others, but so what? Many more unique games still go reletively un-noticed, whether by lack of creativity or lack of interest. There are still pretty good mods that are going largely unnoticed; tour of duty being an example. It's lacking in some aspects, but thats because they released their product. The gameplay is excellent and the graphics are getting nothing but better. The counterpart, CIN, may very well have a superior game but ya know what? We're still waiting for it. And have been for more than a year and a half. In the meantime ToD is still a blast to play and is getting valueable experience.
And thats what it's about IMO. Being part of a team and actually releasing a game is a victory. Getting the experience is invalueable for any future projects you plan to be working on. Course, you gotta have some mad marketing skills to get people to PLAY it, especially since HL2, Halo, Homeworld 2 etc are coming out late this year. But if you can, props to you.

1) Don't mention other mods (CS, TFC), don't say how you are gona be diff. 2) leave the word realisim out. Alot of people have predefined views on what realism is (some good some bad)

Pretty long time ago(which is why it has been erased from the forum history) I wrote a long 'article' on my dream mod. Which is very much alike. I don't know if you read it and got some of your ideas from there but I'm still glad you are doing it. I wish you all the best luck and if you need ideas and more solid rules for your mod, just contact me. I had them figured out back then.
I'd offer help with concept art and stuff but I'm not very reliable when it comes to getting artwork done at all let alone on time and me and responsibility don't get on very well. We had this fight once and we've never really been on good terms ever since ^^;
