New Steam Patch Messes Up Menu Even More

Don't know how many of you noticed, but the new Steam patch (released today) has totally and completely destroyed the popup menu. Before you could at least read PARTS of each of the items, now it is almost 90% skewed (at least on alien side).

I really hope I haven't re-posted something someone already said, and if so, feel free to kick me in the face (I get off on that sort of thing anyway <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> )

Ok. strangest thing in the world...

When I first updated steam, none of the popup menus were legible... also, a bunch of text in steam was messed up.

Then, I did their fix and the text was fixed, but not the popup menus.

THEN, I re-connect (not changing anything) and almost 95% of the popup menus were fixed! Only one or two on both marine and alien were messed up.

I suggest you all try it and see if it works. (If so, then Flyra and the rest won't have to worry about making a fix for it).

They are completely illegible now, as opposed to pre-10/01 update.

Viper, I found the popup menu bug related to the 10/01 update dependent on server to some degree (doesn't meke sense, I know). I joined 10 Steam servers and got several different results in regards to marine/alien popup menus. The good news is overall it IS improved, but still not satisfactory.

This is what I did after I tried the .blob file fix:

1. Saw the horrid menus
2. Quit NS, replaced new .blog with my old (backed up) .blob
3. Reconnected
4. Saw the problem hadn't been fixed
5. Deleted .blob again
6. Did update again
7. Connected to server
8. Everything was peachy.

I played on 3 different servers and I never had any different results, but if kwikloader saw it was different, then it must be.
