    And of course:

(Note, this includes the NS specific entity list, lots of mapping goodies and the latest HLTV sdk)

    <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=31288' target='_blank'>Custom NS textures</a>

And for the "bit" more experienced mappers:

Aimed towards beginner mappers... I haven't been able to update it in a while because the webmaster seems to have disappeared <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Not as complex, but quite helpful for those people who are just slightly intimidated by Hammer.. (I know I was.. and still am.. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> )

    This tutorial walks you through:

    VHE setup
    Creating Brushes (walls)
Applying textures (including special textures like water and transparents)
    Lights
and Compiling (though I suggest compiling outside of VHE)

Textures can be found here, I know Relic25 himself submits some .wads, so NS-ish .wads outside of the official ones do exist! ^_^ Also the "evil" texture packs were created by a guy working on Splinter Cell and they look awesome, perhaps some more originality will be sparked here, as of now newb maps almost always look like NinjaFall or Eclipse. Blah.

(Don't know if this is a "newbie" mapping resource but someone already posted 69th Vlatitude, which is like the best tut site everz0rxz!)

    Yes... I'm sugar buzzing. w00t!

uh, is my memory old, or what?

2 bad links in the 1 thread

Well the quark sticky must have been removed in the great unstuck saga just before 2.0

Search for it, prob use key work quark
