as I see it RGP seemed to believe he did know what he was talking about. The double selection of world/face DOES appear to be a bug when 80% of the time you only see one or the other. It could be that, given he thought it was a bug, he was simply alerting this person to that fact. Hindsight is a fairly poor basis for criticism Moose.
