You have brushes with surfaces that are not single planes. In other words, the 4 corners of the face on a brush must be in the same plane.

if you use HLfix it doesnt matter as it will split the brush to fix this <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->hlfix is a tool that converts Worldcraft/VHE format files (.rmf) to standard .map files. In the process, it performs a number of geometric operations to fix common problems with brush geometry. hlfix is far more sophisticated than VHE's built-in map export feature. The purpose of this tool is to give map designers much greater flexibility in the type of geometry they use to build their maps. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Snake_ub, use also the Alt+P (map/check for problems) key to localize these invalid solids before compiling your map. These invalid solids usually are a result from use of vertex tool.

Anyway, watch this thread <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=4&t=100' target='_blank'>webbed in NS mapping forum</a>

guys be nice to the poor man. be nice let him poartake of oyu fountian of knowledge.

an invalid solid structure occurs when a line drawn across teh object in question crosses more than 2 lines in the x y or z planes.

but hl fix will most likely not let you choose the "direction of face splitting". as we all know a square can be divided in two triangles in 2 ways. btw: vertex manipulation rulez!!!

i get the same problem a lot because of vertex manipulation. if you mess with it a lot you might be able to get a brush to work.

if you know math the top part of a face and the bottom part of a face have to have the same slope but sometimes i can't get away with it being a little different. just mess with your brush until it works.

hit alt + p after any vertex manipulation, it'll save you some pain.

look at confused link. clipping your brush may be a good idea too just don't use it for evil. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
