At Last I Managed To Buy Homeworld 2
<div class="IPBDescription">God damn it was worth the wait!</div> All I can say is OMG this game is amazing the eye candy on some of the ships especially the battle cruisers is mind blowing and they way they have improved things like the fighters and bombers by having you build squadrons rather than one craft at a time is great. The way you can customise your capital ships to suit a situation with moduals is brilliant.
The only bad thing I can think of is that when you complete a mission it just ends where as in the original and cataclysm you could end it when you wanted by pressing the end mission key, I know the game makers did this to save you having to collect all the remaining resources manually but I liked the time that you had at the end of a mission because I would use it to build up the fleet, do research and recylcle captured vessels. Now I have to do that all in mission when I'm against the clock much of the time <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

The upgrades are done for a particualr class of ship and once done don't need to be researched again but I agree that it's annoying to have to build the moduals like figher facility, corvette facility, frigate facility plus all the other little moduals you can stick on the carriers everytime you build one. Would be nice if it could come pre built with the moduals on it to save time like when you select to build it there could be some check boxes or something to specify the moduals you want on it.

I agree... this is the only part of the game where it was downgraded from the original....
But otherwise it was a huge improvement over the original... the single player missions make the original game look like a piece of caek... first game in a while to have such challenging AI, and odds <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

This is a bit annyoing, but the overall costs of ships is much less. Also this add alot more stratagey, for example when attacking a carrier always go for the fighter/corvet bays first so they cant make mroe ships on you

I did like the beast fighters from cataclysm, as they repaired themselves fairly quickly so you could focus on building and guarding any badly damaged cruisers.

Bombers are deadly to capital ships in Homeworld 2 they can cripple a carriers ability to do anything in moments unless they are covered by an effective corvette or fighter screen.
I used waves and waves of bombers escorted by pulsar corvettes to leave my opponents battlecruisers engine-less at the back of their fleet formation while my battlecruisers tore through his destroyer/frigate screen then moved into kill his battlecruisers that were now totaly crippled and defenceless due to my massed bomber raids. A huge cost in resources left buggered by some cheap bombers.
In the HW2 Demo, I use 12 Bomber Squadrons and 12 Interceptor Squadrons to harass an enemy carrier/mothership. I take out the Platform Control and Resource Dropoff first, man it hurts them. For the cost of 6 T. Frigs and 6 I.C. Frigs I get 24 Squadrons that effectively wipe out the enemy resource ability.

They finally made the ships to scale (somewhat, Fighters are still too big, as are 'vettes) but that frig next to the battlecruiser...dude, you just made me go become ANOTHER 50$ poorer when the time comes around that I have it. First I wanna beat Halo PC.

I love the way that torpedoes turn into cluster rockets to hit squads of fighters and vettes.
The best looking part of the game is the damage and destruction of ships.
When you attack a ship, hull plating gets blown off.
When it gets low on life, fires break out and parts of the hull impode.
The frigats explode in long drawn out explosions with sounds to match that are worth stopping and watching everytime!
When a carrier goes up its like a fireworks display!!!!

From the time it hits zero life to the time the core explodes is about 6 seconds of an awesome explosion.
First the smoke and fires grow to huge amounts.
Then the MS starts to explode in sections, hull plating in huge sections blows off.
Then the secondary systems explode and then the core goes up with a
huge FLASH of light and a shockwave that makes you clap!
I love being able to destroy the modules and engines of a big ship.
You take out the engine and the Hyperspace modules, the ship is your ****.
It can't get away at all.
Thats the best way to beat the single player missons where you need to prevent a big ship from escaping.
Destroy the Engines first.
The only thing I don't like is the unit caps. They are tooo low!
