<div class="IPBDescription">Which way to Rehab?</div> Uhh When I said vc ****, I meant one who is a slut with their voice chat ability.
Every time I play NS, I set up my handy mike. (Which I nicknamed SpongeScream, because I had to cut up a sponge into four equal parts, take on of those fourths and place it over my mike to prevent feedback screams.) I love my mike, it allows me to keep my team updated onto what is going on where, since I tend to scout a lot as a skulk. Some examples of what I say are as follows:
- "Alert Hive Lockdown @ <insert hivename here> 1 Phasegate 1 TF [electrified] 4 turrets 0 marines, repeat Hive Lockdown @ <insert hivename here>
- "Alert Hive <insert hivename here> is under attack, all available units proceed to Hive <insert hivename here>"
- "I have just parasited the following structures; <>, <>, <>, proceed with caution in <insert area here>"
- "Which chamber should I build [next], dc, mc or, sc?"
- "Enemy base is [weakened/disabled], proceed to <insert baseareaname here>"
Am I overdoing my usage of spongescream or is this helpful at all? I get complained at sometimes because they don't care to know. I only say this stuff because I <b>sure as hell</b> would like to know this stuff when I am playing. As for marines, well the only things I say there are along the lines of:
- "Roger that command, [proceeding to waypoint/ building structure at waypoint/ attacking enemies/structures at waypoint]"
- "<insert helpful tip to nublard commander who just put down 2 Armories instead of IP's granting us a grand total of 3 Armories and no way to respawn>"
So, what should I do? Am I doing ok or is this annoying. You tell me.

"forsooth!!! I have parasited yonder buildings; taketh thy care in the realms of <insert place here> for it is full of the evils and dark doings of the devilish marines of dingly dell"
hope that helps ^^
(This actually occurred on a server I was playing at and even more suprising, was the fact that everyone seemed to have read the Gamespy Daily Victim article it came from.)
Thy foolery shalt be dealt with posthaste, yon Crouching Onos Hidden OH NO'S.

GameSpy didn't invent it. Read all about Talk Like a Pirate Day <a href='http://www.talklikeapirate.com/' target='_blank'>here</a>.
If you are going to say those, you will sound like a robot.
And yes, it will be very annoying. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Amen, pop a joke in there once and awhile. lol. You can spam all you want as long as your plesent. I recorded a whole voice conversation between two guys in the game because it was so damn funny. They were like chatterbox radio for Grand Theft Auto III.
Don't try to be formal, though. Say what you have to say in as few syllables, as distinctly as possible. It's sometimes quite difficult to understand voicecom messages, so aim to make your message as clear as possible phonetically.
Anyone know that stuff, or do those commands only work on TFC...
Only use the voice comm to talk about things that are too big to type or wouldn't work with typing.
For example,
bind z "say Health Now!; impulse 100"
This will ask a comm for a medpack plus a typed messege, when you are alien you will make a sound that asks for healspray.
If still no one responds, then you spam the voice comm.
bind x "say Ammo Now!; impulse 101"
This asks for ammo via the ammo command for marines and makes a text message. When you are aliens, it makes a funny noise, but that's about it.
Disclaimer: I think the impulses are wrong... I think... hm...
I'm sure most gorges don't mind playing nurse but some manners would go a long way; instead of 'NOW!' try 'please' huh?
And about the mike stuff, thanks a lot, I will consider that Next time.
My <b>teamspeak</b> bind might go something like this (note: using biodome as example) -
Cold-NiTe(Biodome): <---Hive under attack. Requesting reinforcements of any kind.
or
Cold-NiTe(Biodome): <---HIVE has been locked down. <insert various buildings, different binds for different sets of buildings>
- Followed by -
Cold-NiTe(Xenomorph Research): <---Requesting reinforcements at this area, group for assault on HIVE mentioned earlier.
Don't worry, now that I am going in the right direction, with all the right considerations, I will work it out.

Ok, what the heck, Captin... <b>Pugwash</b>? ROFL. What on Earth is this? I need an explanation before I explode from dealing with the bizzare nature of the name alone.
Note: No offense intended, I am just really curious right now.
