<div class="IPBDescription">One of my personal fears...</div> At the news of the new gamemode I was, of course, thrilled and excited.
But my main fear is this:
Will it go the same way as, for example, UT(2k3) instagib ctf?
Sometimes its hard enough as is finding a decent server to play, let alone one in the game mode you want.
This post is a sort of question to the team/community.
Aren't you afraid one mode will overtake 90% of the servers like certain modes have in other game?
The idea of the "assault" (defense alliance? <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->) mode is good and will give quick games.
This is where my fear comes from. Generally people that play online FPS games prefer a quick scrim over a 40min long battle for supremacy which is the current playstyle in NS. I, personally, like long games where you have to WORK and are forced into decent teamplay instead of just shooting shooting shooting.
The new mode has an appeal but is also more accessible, thus making it easier to run and people to get into and my guess is at the end say "Hey why would I play a 45min game when I can just shoot/bite/rambo like this?". Many of the players in the community know that scores were removed for such a reason. To give less personal credit. Won't this new mode promote such style of play, which is the idea sort of, but drive it too far over the balancing scales and once again promote individual play over teamplay?
Now this is just a rant made over my idea of what it may become and I have not played nor seen nor heard much about the new mode so I'm only speculating.
It would really suck if the few servers with decent ping and players became "new-mode-only".
Anyway cheers to the team and blow our minds away again once more!
Cheers,
ME!

According to what I've seen, yes.
This is also my biggest fear, that NS:C will basically make it imposible to find normal NS games. Thus the normal NS community will stagnate and die. And that would suck. Hell, since people don't seem to ever drop sens first (the only time its usefull) anymore, I might just start playing all NS:C since I would be able to get cloaking no matter what. No... wiat.... what am I saying *smacks self* I should definatly stop posting at 4:30am.
