Serious Inquiry About Getting Res For Kills

<div class="IPBDescription">Is it random?</div> Is there a system to tell how much res marines are going to get for killing an alien or is it random everytime? I noticed sometimes the marines will get just 1 res point and than other kills would be 2 or 3. Whats the official answer?

Its random 1-3 same for aliens.

I really wish that it gets reduced to 1 res per kill as alien instead of 1-3
