Getting Mods To Work With Steam...

There's a slight problem- I don't have the "youremail" file. Can I just create it, or should I just not mess with the steam I have working now?

Um.. Chimpy.. The youremail file name was a place holder.
Put it in the folder named after the email you signed up with
So say you signed up with the email docchimpy@cantfigureoutsomethingassimpleasthisonhisown.com
then the folder would be named docchimpy@cantfigureoutsomethingassimpleasthisonhisown.com
You have signed up for steam.. right?

AneM: You dont have that folder until you have downloaded Half Life completely of CS, so if he got the 500kb one he wort have that folder for about a day.

Yes, I have signed up for steam...and I used the 723 Mb installer...but the folder does not exist.

And yes, I knew that the "youremail" was a placeholder.

If the folder isn't there, chances are you need to go out and DL something off steam so it will make the folder. If you got one of those caches, just start the game up for it..
I would suggest HL, as that is the one you need for Steam to set up to play NS.
Then start up CS, as many NS servers got the CS+HL cache file, and for some reason require CS to be set up by steam before you can play properly.
Just let steam set up the stuff, then install NS.

Also, sorry about that last post.. I had a bad day.. and I kinda live in one of those towns full of computer illiterate people who ask stupid questions (ie: wheres the "Any" key). I have a tendancy to assume people are completely retarded by default.. because you know, most people who ask a question like that around here really would think there is supposed to be a "youremail" folder..

You have to run the game successfully once, and then the folder appears. It's like magic!
