What do you think?
I've noticed an increase of people posting, "nice work," or something similar, and that's it! OK, now you wonder why I think this is bad? Well...
For one, it boosts old topics and newer ones get forgotten about, because some people have posted a three line reply in five posts. I'm not talking about Homerx here, there's quite a few people I've noticed doing this, and it's not fair on the artists who post their work here for "review."
I don't know if you will agree with me, but don't you think people should be saying, "nice drawing, I like/dislike the ..." Just something a little creative. This, would help the artist improve further, as they know what people liked about their previous work, or what needs improving.
I understand, there maybe some times where you can't do this. Like a comedy picture, where you just post, "hahaha," or something. Or maybe if the artist doesn't want critism or something.
Is this just me or am I going on about nothing?

Comments
Its just that I never browsed this forum before, and there's a lot of good stuff on here.
Once again, I apologize, and I will try to reply on the new threads only.
hehe... joking im not one of those people. I agree that people should elaborate and give constructive critizizm(heh), but pure support is always appreciated. If people would just go beyond " LOL GG OMG ROFL GTG BRB" it would help. Most of the "artists" get the real constructive comments from the experianced crowd - The big people.
I don't think it should be a rule, but people should at least try to make critics that help the artist as CaL already said, or at least give a try to make a nice comment, going farther than "i like your art".
So, myself, i'll try to stop making such comments, that's the only thing i can give to solve this "problem". Besides this is like the only forum i post in and that i read. Since i think there are major artists here whose works are greater than i thought i would find in the first place, i would really like to share some of my own work here but i don't have a scanner (shame on me).

you want something creative?
Very Bad Idea.
The whole point of forums its to post how you feel or what you want to say. If you approve of some ast or something, it usually comes out as "good job." How the heck are people supposed to get feedback if people enjoy theri work or not?? If you feel so touchy about this, include in your title...(only crticism please) or soething like that. But you can't stop these comments anyway. I could have just said bad idea to this.
Heres an idea, open the polls for opinions. how about that?
EX: Do you approve of my art? Y/N. If you have criticism please send to my E-mail at Cal@whattheheck.com
there
bad idea
Btw, making polls sounds somewhat good... but it wouldn't be a very good idea to have 2000 polls to vote on...
Not meaning to sound angry but:

If you think somebody has made a good job of their art. There must be something about it you like? Why not just write something like, "nice drawing, I really like the way you drew the blah."

If everybody posted, "nice drawing" after somebody posted an image it probably wouldn't be worth posting your work here. The fact you're posting your work, unless you say so, is so people can comment about it. This is how I feel the artwork forum was intended.
I like people saying my work is nice, don't get me wrong. But it makes me think that it didn't mean much when you see the same poster saying, "nice drawing" in five other posts. As I am not the greatest artist ever, I prefer posts telling me where I have gone wrong, or where I have to improve, but maybe that is personal?
All it takes is an extra eight words to be polite to the people who make this forum what it is, the artists.
