Well I go to google and get that message (The one attached)

    As opposed to google itself.

So I did what the supposed "US Trade Federation" told me to do and found all that crap in my host file (It redirects any internet browser I believe)

Of course once all that crap had gone I can now get to google fine but its still a pain in the butt

-EDIT- Also did an Adware scan just to make sure -EDIT-

It is well known (well, obviously not THAT well known) that the search results you get from google are different depending on which country you are connecting from.

Conspiracy. Truth. Out there. Yada yada....

Yea, host redirecting has been around for awhile, I guess they finally decided to get in there and mess with that.
Personally I do the opposite and set all the spyware sites and what not to 127.0.0.1. Specially any progs that link to ads like in a window, like the top of AIM's buddy window. Mwahah!
    Use it for your advantage!
Real reason is for networking, to associate ip's with easier to remember words and what not.
Set your ip address to me. Then in dos, ping me. etc.
Also look for the kazaalite site, they have a link called the supertrick.
Its basically a huge **** hosts file redirecting a large quantity of spyware and popup sites to yourself, yielding no pop ups and what not.
    Me likes it.
