A Few Glitches Hope You Can Help

Ok I've been an NS player for roughly a year and a half now and since steams hostile takeover <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo--> from WON I have had an interesting ride setting up my comp to work. But I did it without any help just searched my problems through forums and all that hard work paid off until I hit a snag with NS, 2 things happen:

1. After loading into a server, I can play the whole game through but when a games over and map changes I freeze up, and I get an the MSN error report page [don't know why since this isn't MSN] it gives option to send a report or dont send one which I do because i'm thorough, and it says to go to sierra website which has no solution whatsoever, kinda like a catch-22. Not only does that happen but after exiting from this prob, my screen becomes a very bright screen and it wasnt that bright before. It does this when I launch through steam or ASE. So anyone know the solution to my prob?

2. Secondly my F4 button doesnt work and no i didnt assign a key to it at all or change the settings anytime while i had ns and it was working fine before.

xp is notorious for messing things up. I've never had the exact crash you're describing, but I DO get that incredibly bright screen sometimes.

I updaded my memory and half-life stopped crashing as much, so you could always try that (besides, more memory is never a bad thing)

with your f4 button, just bind "readyroom" to f4

ok, these are steam errors (probably)
thus I can't help you with them

the one thing is that there is a tool in your NS flder called resetgama, use it for that problem when NS crashes


other wise, go looking at the stupidly large amount of steam hlep threads/posts/articles every where on the internet.

the f4 problem is not a steam problem, it's a half-life problem (i've had keys randomly unbind many times)

Just rebind it. It'll work, I promise.
