i can't seem to access NS games
this isnt really a complaint about the steam system, i think its a intresting way for product disto that may be very good. but.
at the moment i can't seem to get onto NS games, i don't think it even downloads it, steam tells me its starting counterstrike, and then the game cannot be accessed.
i'm just curious, is this a general problem with steam+NS, or is it something wrong with my client and i need to re-install or something?
(i don't know why anybody complains about steam, personally i found HL performance go up, and i can alt-tab without loosing sound \o/)

Generally it runs fine. The only problem with steam ATM is that the rightclick alien menu is messed up and that you can't search for servers if you not started the game before. Every other problem is due to bad install.
Try this:
go to http://www.steampowered.com/getsteamnow.htm and download the full installer (or only the CS one if you like). Completly remove steam and HL from your system and reinstall it with the installer. Run HL once and search for Steam/your@email.com/Half-Life and install/put your NS folder there. It SHOULD work. (It didn't work for me the first time but after some restarting steam it did well.)
There are already a variety of NS-Steam threads sitting in wait in the Tech Support forum. They do not belong here in General Discussion.
