Major Distress
<div class="IPBDescription">Its a college pun!</div> I'm really freaking confused right now.
I've entered Marist College as a Comp Sci major. All well and good. Now I'm realizing I don't want to be a code monkey for my life. The only thing I'm really interested with computers is games, and a CS degree doesn't show you have the creative power to make games. I'm personally more interested in the creative side of games, rather than the John Carmack style code poetry.
This presents a dilema. I don't want to be a comp sci major. I'm realizing more and more I want to be a Seth MacFarlane type; smart, funny entertainment people who do it all. Writing, directing, acting, etc. Seth has a degree in Animation, btw.
I'm debating between becoming a Communications major (for entertainment/screenwriting) or an English Major (general writing, acting, etc). I'm in a real bit of a pickle. I'm not sure which direction to go. I'm just curious for the older people out there, what is your major? How much relevance does it have to what you're doing now?

or you could take the other classes but keep your programing knowledge and try to get into games as a writer with some code know-how
English or Communications? What should I do!?
Of course, nothing wrong with Communications, it's just i'm biased towards English as i'm either doing History or English major because they are what I enjoy doing/learning.
[edit] And I know what your talking about. I wanted to make games years ago, but then I learned the basics of coding and I was just...bleh. Now I think of good idea's for what a game could be, if it wasn't for coding[/edit]
