to my dear Modeling Forum folks
Someone's taken up threadcromancy (bringing long-idle threads back from the dead) recently. In any other forum, I'd probably lock the revived posts with a quick "please do not revive dead threads."
However, things work a bit differently here, for two reasons.
1) When a new person hops on the board and says "Hey, someone should make XYZ!" the response is often "GEEEEZ someone already MADE XYZ, and there's an ABC that goes along with it! Use the search function!"
2) We have a huge list at the top of the forum of completed, released works, with (by design) links to their release threads.
Threadcromancy in *this* forum means that our system works. It's a GOOD THING!
So how should you all react to it? Frequently, threads get bumped because the download link is broken, so you'll come across a 6-month-old thread with someone wandering around like a lost puppy asking "where's the model?" Be nice. Puppies are fragile. Suggest to this lost little puppy that he send a PM, email, or other private method of contact to the creator of the thread. If you're feeling *really* industrious, throw him a link to a few sites where he might find NS models available for DL.
Don't flame the puppy, ok? Because burning puppies alive is mean, and makes baby onos cry. You don't want to make baby Onos cry, do you?

When I first started here, six pages back was "old" and people flipped out then, too. Everyone was new here at some point.
Apparently, the majority of people are aware that the search functions are a dodgy proposition, so don't beat on the new guy, or it'll be an other eight or nine months before I bother to show my face here again.
and ooooOOOOoooo... new =DD= site!
