When should I Change?
Well, as I have currently over heard, Valve is removing won and moving on to Steam. I'm seeing alot of Steam being real buggy and such, but the main question here is when. When should I switch the server over to Steam from Won? It's a confusing subject for me as I never saw a problem with won (Valve, go figure) So when should I make the transition to Steam? When will Won be phased out? Just curious as this is going to affect alot of things to running my servers.

Thanks!
When you do it that way you can even use your old shortcuts to start the server. Just change the directory to the new one. This also means that you keep both your old WON server setup and the new Steam server set up. Players aren't going to switch over to Steam until they have to now with the way Steam started so badly. But Steam is working pretty well now.
You can get the HLDS Update Tool here:

Its a bit like running an old DOS app but it isn't too dificult.
I would avoid using the Steam dedicated server in your user name directory, especially if you use something like Serverdoc. The complicated directory structure means you can run out of command line space pretty quickly...
The only drawback is you can only run the HLDS update tool on a Valve mod.
wrong forum post in the WIN32 Server Support.
