So i'm looking to acquire some LEGALLY put-out Fansub/Dubbed anime's. I know it's possible over mIRC and BitTorrent but I have no idea where to go or what to do. I suspect that stuff you download will not be legal. But perhaps there are loopholes in Japanese copyright law I don't know about...?

Your having trouble finding it.. type Anime in google.
    Tons of places sell it.

    Whats your style?
What animes do you like, whats your genera?

I love movies like Macross plus and Ninja Scroll, Akira, NGE, bubble gum crises, etc, etc... so I know what kind of Anime I like, so I never find it hard to find it once I like it.
Even some things I didn't think I would like I really enjoy, Somedays Dreamers comes to mind.
Also it doesn't hurt to DL different animes so you can find what you like and then buy the Box Set or what ever

Samwise, there are tons of Fan-sub anime's flooding the market, complete with IRC servers. (I just don't know where). I think it's legal because everything ripped is shown on tv? (Hentai is not legal to show on japanese TV though).

I'm just trying to find some anime and I can't afford to buy it right now

Downloading anime that has not yet been licensed is completely legal. You can find many fansubbing groups in the net. Few good places to downloadlegal anime with bittorrent:

    <a href='http://www.gotwoot.net' target='_blank'>Gotwoot</a>
    <a href='http://www.drewan.cc/anime' target='_blank'>Baka-Torrent</a>

But the best place for downloading anime is absolutely <a href='http://animesuki.sandwich.net/' target='_blank'>Animesuki</a>. You can find links for pretty much any anime you want to from there. Except those that are licensed.

I think it's been stated on these boards previously that the admin team considers fansubs "close enough to warez"

Also. Anime and distribution companies 'tolerate' fansubbing, only as much as to promote the series. Once a series has been licensed in North America, fansubbing of that series stops and all distribution is meant to cease. So go out and pick up the DVDs ;p

<a href='http://www.animeondvd.com' target='_blank'>Animeondvd.com</a> is your best list of DVDs...

So go pick up a couple...

It isn't completely legal actually, but they usually turn a blind eye to it because it's basically free marketing.

Oh? I'd be interested to see where.
